hi, hello!
It’s good to have your eyes and ears. Here’s what I’ve been listening to for the past month.
If January was all about pop music, February was about country tunes.
To start, I recently discovered Zach Bryan and am obsessed. He was my Instagram poll this month. On Instagram, I can only have four tracks as poll options so a lot of people responded with other tunes they would have selected from American Heartbreak, which makes sense as it’s a two-hour album. If you’re new to him, I’d recommend playing him on shuffle. You won’t get a bad track.
I leaned into country music this month because a few friends planned a Dolly Disco party. Surprisingly, my month is lacking both Dolly Parton and disco, but I think the sentiment is still there with Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, Willie Nelson, Bonny Light Horseman, Theo Lawrence, and Nancy Sinatra. You can listen to the party playlist here. Dance lessons not included.
If country music isn’t your thing, I’d recommend checking out Tennis’s new album Pollen. Also, M83 released new music that serves as a good midweek pick-me-up. If you’re feeling sluggish and prefer to zen out, “Humming” by Sam Cooke will be just what you need. Take it easy.
