hi, hello!
It’s good to have your eyes and ears. Here’s what I’ve been listening to for the past month.
Spring has brought so much sunshine and color to Texas. Coincidentally, I’ve been choosing albums this past month based on their album covers’ colors, coordinating a color scheme and flow from browns to pinks to greens. I started color coordinating late last month with a series of blues starting with Willie Nelson’s Make Way for Willie Nelson. (Also, yesterday was Willie’s 90th birthday!)
As you scroll through the playlist, you’ll see that it’s not perfect, but it is pretty.
What’s the last album you listened to based on the cover? Did it hold up?
On top of gravitating towards certain colors, I’ve also been listening to a lot of instrumental tunes this month. See: Lady Wray (Instrumentals), Will Van Horn, Delicate Steve, and Sean W Spellman. For instrumental-adjacent (with minimal lyrics) see: Caribou, Kindness, Jamie xx, Gil Scott-Heron, and Spiritualized.
I’ve been drawn to this type of music because I can easily multitask while listening, instead of getting caught up in the lyrics.
What music do you listen to when you need to get a lot done?
